For whatever reason, this is the day to take a moment to step outside of the hum-drum of everyday life. And when I speak like this, I know I am talking about the work-side of life that seems to run automatically with me as a passive passenger stuck in the side car.
But today, I have got out and I am ready to stretch my legs. To stand still appreciating the solidness of what I feel beneath my feet. To open my eyes and see the world around me. To be a part of it. An active participant and not just a passenger.
And when I am done looking around, I am going to reach inside the glove-box and find my childhood glasses. And I am going to put them on. And when I do, I will be able to see Life as it should be. The life that is filled with childhood dreams; shaped by awe and wonder, excitement and carefree optimism. And stuffed full of questions....Why?
And to answer one of my own questions, why.
Because today is the day to look at Life through the childhood glasses that showed me that anything and everything is possible.
